News

This weeks news.

This week’s post is a mixture of notices to give and information about our plans for celebrating World Book Week.
First of all, this is just a reminder that our text system is not working currently. We are working hard to sort a new system out through ParentPay and we will be issuing instructions about this through emails shortly. Keep an eye out for emails from school as this is our main communication route currently.
The ESA has sadly had to cancel their Race Night which was planned for next Saturday. There is however a Bikeathon planned for Thursday 12th March and a Jumble sale for Saturday 14th. Please take these opportunities to support our school. Follow our Facebook posts or ask at school for further details about these events. The date of the next meeting is Monday 16th March.
This week we are celebrating reading. We have a fun week planned with a range of activities to suit all classes. We start the week with a World Book Day assembly. This will be led by Mrs Scott, our English leader who has planned the whole week for us. Mrs Scott will also be asking how the children are doing with their Readathon challenge. Don’t forget you can pay sponsor money into the school office or through Parent Pay.
Squirrel class have been given the task of starting to write a whole school story! This will be passed onto Owl class for the middle part and then onto Hedgehog class for the ending. I look forward to reading it aloud to the whole school at the end of the week.
Each class will record stories onto the ipads for sharing and we will be reading stories to each other throughout the week.
The paper plate homework will be shared on Wednesday afternoon and we will have our usual catwalk of costumes on Thursday when we all dress as an adjective. I wonder what adjectives we will have; sporty, flamboyant, eclectic, spotty, bland, boring, magnificent, blue etc?
Look out for Facebook posts all week, highlighting everything we are doing to celebrate reading and a huge thank you to Mrs Scott for all the organisation.
