Nearly half term…

You might be forgiven for thinking we are winding down ready for half term, however you would be wrong! After nearly 8 weeks we are tired and ready for a week off but still loving learning and having fun. The upcoming week will be busy with Harvest Festival, sports events, topic celebration day and homework share.
This past week we had a few disappointments with the horrendous wet weather forcing us to miss both a football festival and our weekly tag rugby training. Hopefully we will have a dry week ahead with plenty of playtimes outside, PE at the field and the Tag Rugby Tournament on Thursday. Everyone needs to do a sun dance!
I have had a busy week showing prospective parents around our school. I am delighted that we had such a good response to our Open Morning and I continue to show around parents looking for places not only for Reception 2020 but for other year groups too. We have two new pupils starting on Monday with a further two appeals waiting to be heard. This takes the total of new children joining the Eastcombe school family to 10 since the start of the school year in September! There are still some year groups that are not full so if you would like a place at our school please contact the school office on 01452 770227.
We have had Parents’ Evening this week and it was a very positive event. Thank you everyone for your support, kind words and compliments. It is lovely for the staff to hear your views about everything we are doing to ensure the children have the very best education and learning experiences. I hope you enjoyed looking at your children’s books, art work and the fantastic classroom displays.
Apologies this is only a short post this week, and you might notice it’s a day early! Happy weekend everyone.
