Eastcombe Primary is brilliant because…

This week Eastcombe Primary School is brilliant because: The week started with Ester coming into school to teach the children about teeth and oral hygiene. Ester began with a whole class assembly followed by workshops in each classroom. The children were fascinated by using disclosing tablets to look for plaque and then brushing their teeth. Each child was given a goody bag to take home which included a sand timer, toothbrush, mirror, toothpaste and a sticker. Thank you to the ESA who funded these packs and a HUGE thank you to Ester for coming in and sharing her knowledge and experience.
Squirrel Class had a lovely treat for their Mums with an outdoor learning day at Copsegrove. After a day of fun full of adventure the children rewarded their mums with toasted marshmallows around the campfire.
Owl and Hedgehog class have been up to Thomas Keble school to work with their students on different sports such as Football, Rugby, Netball, Basketball and Hockey skills. They all had a great time. We have also had another Archery session with Steph and Dan. The children are honing their skills and becoming quite competitive against each other.
In the classrooms the children are enjoying Science, Owl class have been learning about metamorphosis and life cycles, they will be going to Cotswold Wildlife Park next week to learn more. Hedgehogs are enjoying their topic ‘Eastcombe Explorers’ and have been looking at local landscapes and human /physical features. They have also enjoyed their first Ocarina session in music, it was a noisy afternoon, which resulted in a recognisable version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star after much practise!
