Round up of the week just gone…

This week Eco Club celebrated Global Recycling Day by learning about ‘Reduce, reuse and recycle’. We planted old wellies to help make the playground a greener and prettier place. Year 5 completed their Bikeability training and I am delighted to announce they all passed and are safe and confident to cycle on the road. Children from different year groups took part in Cross country races at Thomas Keble with Jayden and India coming in first for their age! Congratulations to all that took part, you ran well and looked fabulous in our new Sports kit. Owl class have produced some beautiful art work this week linked to their science. They were printing flower and leaf designs. Hedgehog class perfected the art of Boomwhackers! Next week we are moving on to learn how to play ocarina’s. Squirrel class enjoyed making postcards using 2publish. This combined creating artwork and typing text with all children achieving great results. The staff this week updated their paediatric first aid training, learning some important skills. As a result of this we have decided to teach all the children some basic first aid such as the recovery position and how to call for help. The older children learnt CPR with the Mini Marines last year. These are important life skills we hope they never have to use but we believe in preparing our children for the rest of their lives. Keep following our posts to find out more about our school.
