A team of Eastcombe year 3 and 4 children recently took part in a Quadkids tournament against other local schools, which was held after school, at Archway secondary school.
The format of the tournament meant that every child completed 4 activities;
- 50 metre sprint
- 400 metre race
- Hurler throwing (a bit like throwing a mini-size rugby ball)
- Standing long jump
This competition was open to all schools within the Stroud District, so we were up against schools that were almost all significantly bigger than ours. That said, our children performed brilliantly and we finished a very creditable 13th out of 18 schools. Our team for the event was;
Year 4 – Elsa-Mae, Esmee, Finley, Harley, Jayden
Year 3 – Jack, Lottie,
Year 2 – Faith
