Our topic for this term was to learn all about rain forests.
During this topic we visited the Living Rain forest in Newbury, which was a really enjoyable and interesting experience. It was great to experience just how humid the rain forest environment actually is, as well as being able to see a huge variety of animals and insects, that call the rain forest home.
In late November, we completed a class assembly, which we presented to the whole school and parents. A copy of the powerpoint for our assembly is attached below:
Finally, as part of this topic the children in our class produced a stunning range of homework.
A not-quiet-exhaustive list of the rain forest homework that they produced, included:
- Home-made board games
- Home-made cakes
- Rain forest animal top trumps cards
- Clay models
- Play dough models
- Plasticine models
- Layers of the rain forest pictures
- Animal factfiles
