🌠Thomas Keble Sports Awards 🌠

Recently, two of our year five pupils (Alistair McCallum and Ben Hayes-Holgate) attended the Thomas Keble Sports Awards Ceremony. Alistair has kindly provided a write-up of what happened at the event….

Thomas Keble Sports Awards 2019

I received a letter from Thomas Keble (TK) School inviting me to attend their annual sports awards evening. I did not know why I had been invited, but I love sport and was keen to go to the event to find out more. When I arrived at Thomas Keble School, I was given a programme for the evening. I spotted the primary school awards and was then even more excited. Mark Atkinson (who plays for Gloucester Rugby Club) was a special guest at the awards ceremony, he spoke about his sporting career and school life.

Ben was also at the award ceremony and we saw lots of TK pupils receive many sporting awards and also watched a dance and gymnastics performance. Mr Price announced the award winners from Bussage School, Bisley School, Chalford Hill School and then it was our turn. Mr Price called out Ben’s name first, he won the ‘Sports Star’ award, and then me, I won the ‘Sports Personality of the Year’ for Eastcombe School. Everyone was clapping, I stood up and nervously walked to the front of the stage and shook Mark’s hand, I was given a trophy and a certificate. I also had my photograph taken with Mark.

I am really proud and pleased with my award, I hope to win many more sports awards when I am at secondary school and beyond.
